Community Technology Support: Purpose
This partnership will provide basic technical support for desktops, laptops and small networks operated by schools, nonprofits, and community-based organizations serving low-income children and adults. In addition, the AmeriCorps members will provide basic technical training so end users can resolve common problems caused by inappropriate use or lack familiarity with operating systems and peripherals.
Program outcomes include enhanced technology access for students and families, increased technology know-how for clients, real-world experience for college IT students, enhanced service to project partner customers, and enhanced reputation and awareness for all project partners.
